About The Role

Case Managers will provide trauma-informed, holistic therapeutic case management for Aboriginal young people at the time of bail and until court hearings. Provide post-bail support that will include access to culturally strengthening care and support to meet the young people’s immediate needs, including referrals to support social emotional wellbeing, health, education and employment pathways. Specialized training will be provided.

About You

- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose.
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Youth Justice and Child Protection systems, including a strong understanding of the reasons why Aboriginal children and young people are over-represented in these systems.
- Demonstrated experience in case management with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or vulnerable groups including a high level of empathy and problem-solving ability.

Desirable

- Relevant degree or certifications in Case Management and/or Therapeutic Practices (e.g. Trauma-informed Care, Mental Health and AOD, Domestic Violence, Social Work,



Community Development or other relevant areas).

Requirements

- Work experience in Youth Justice, Case Management, AOD, mental health or similar role.
- You must have and continue to hold a full Victorian Driver’s Licence, a current employment Working with Children Check card and undertake a National Police Check.
