The details… We are looking for a casual funeral director's assistant, the role is on a casual basis, meaning that there are no set working hours per week and these hours can vary extensively from 0 hours to about 30 per week, depending on business levels. The hours vary from 7am - 6pm but are typically 8am - 4pm depending on the needs of the funeral service.
What might your day look like?
- Washing the vehicles required for a funeral service
- Assisting in the physical set up of the funeral equipment and loading of vehicles
- Assisting the funeral director at the funeral service by:
- Setting up tables and equipment required
- Greeting guests as they arrive, having the memorial book signed, and handing our orders of service
- Running the AV equipment as required
- Any other ad hoc duties
- Packing up and looking after the equipment
- Assisting on transfers of a deceased person
- Assisting in the mortuary as required
Must-haves…
- A friendly and warm disposition
- Excellent attention to detail
- Great listening skills
- The ability to follow standards
- Interpersonal skills and presentation.
- Current full NSW driver's license
- This role requires bending, reaching, and lifting. It also requires you to be able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.
- The ability to work Monday – Friday and when needed on the weekend.
