Company Description Monash Law Clinics is a legal services organization based at 60 Beddoe Avenue in Clayton, within metropolitan Melbourne, Australia. Role Description The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and financial sustainability of Monash Law Clinics. This hybrid position is based in Melbourne, VIC, with a mix of on-site work at Clayton and some work from home as appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting and implementing organizational strategy, managing budgets and financial performance, and ensuring effective operations and service delivery.
The CEO will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders including the university, government, community organizations, and funders, and drive initiatives to improve client services and student learning outcomes.
The role also involves monitoring performance against goals, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and representing the organization publicly and within the broader legal and education sectors.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Finance and Business Planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial stewardship.
- Strong Operations Management and Strategic Planning skills to oversee service delivery, organizational growth, and long-term direction.
- Experience in Sales or business development, with the ability to build partnerships, secure funding, and enhance organizational visibility.
- Proven leadership experience in a professional services, legal, not-for-profit, or education workplace.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities and partners.
- Ability to make data-informed decisions, manage change, and foster a collaborative, inclusive workplace culture.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, business, management, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
- Understanding of legal service delivery, access to justice, and the role of clinical legal education is an advantage.
