About Us
Assisi Aged Care (Assisi) is a provider of residential aged care services, located in the Melbourne suburb of Rosanna. It was established as a not-for-profit organization for Melbourne's elderly Italian community predominantly of the Catholic faith. Assisi is close to public transport and 30 minutes from Melbourne's central business district.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable individual who is interested in joining a motivated and committed team to provide a high standard of cleaning and laundry services and uphold strong infection control practices. Our ideal candidate will have permanent work rights in Australia, a passion for cleaning, be comfortable working in an aged-care environment, and be seeking a stable and ongoing role. No specific qualifications are required, we are looking for the right candidate with the right attitude and commitment.
On the job training will be provided.
All applicants must be available to work on a permanent part time basis for 35 hours per fortnight on Fridays (7am - 3pm), and Saturday & Sunday (10am - 3pm). Shifts worked on weekends attract penalty rates. Additional days may be offered to cover vacant shifts at short notice or approved leave for other workers.
Key Selection Criteria
- Prior experience in a cleaning role & motivation to learn in a new environment
- Ability to undertake cleaning and laundry duties to a high standard with attention to detail
- Basic literacy and ability to follow written procedures
- Ability to plan and manage workload and adhere to time frames
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to positively engage with people of all ages
- Basic fluency and comprehension in spoken and written English
- Permanent working rights in Australia or citizenship
- Successful National Police Check for working with vulnerable people
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination is preferred
- Ability to speak Italian is highly desirable
