About The Role

Funded through the AFL Brain Health Initiative (BHI), this role will provide clinical neuropsychology services to Fremantle players and support BHI research activity, working closely with the Club Doctor and Psychologist. Clinical governance sits with standard Club healthcare management practices, while research matters are overseen by the AFL Head of Concussion Innovation & Research.

The Scope Of The Role Will Include

- Undertaking player neurocognitive assessment, including pre season baseline, post concussion assessment and exit from Club assessment, using a range of cognitive measures and self report scales
- Applying a client centred, hypothetic deductive approach to neuropsychological opinion, and provide assessment feedback to players, Club doctors and other healthcare staff with consent
- Supporting implementation of rehabilitation recommendations, and manage or escalate care for players presenting with acute distress
- Facilitating player recruitment into the Brain Health Initiative, including obtaining informed consent and supporting research milestones and travel
- Ensuring Club compliance with BHI research standard operating procedures, including database training and data monitoring
- Liaising with the AFL BHI Project Manager and act as the primary point of contact for players' general queries and concerns regarding the programme

This is a Consultancy engagement of 7.5 hours per week (approximately one day per week), commencing 1 November 2026, for an initial term of two years. Flexibility to see players across the week, particularly during pre season, is highly valued.

What You Will Bring

- Masters degree or Clinical Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology, with current AHPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance




- Minimum two years' postgraduate experience in clinical or research neuropsychology settings
- Excellent written and stakeholder communication skills, with a sound understanding of research data privacy and confidentiality obligations
- Experience in sport medicine, with professional athletes, or in concussion research is highly regarded
- Current or willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check, a current driver's licence, and completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
