About This Role

Your new role

As a Clinical Nurse Within Lagoon Ward, You Will Provide Advanced Clinical Leadership And Expert Nursing Care To Patients With Complex Medical Needs, While Supporting The Team To Deliver Safe, Compassionate And Person-centred Outcomes. You Will

- Provide advanced assessment, care planning, clinical coordination and problem-solving for patients across the Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) and Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
- Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, including delegation, supervision, mentoring and support, with responsibility for professional leadership of the ward in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7.
- Contribute to education, quality improvement, clinical audits, research and the implementation of evidence-based practice, helping drive continual improvement in patient care and service delivery.
- Support effective patient flow through prioritisation, admission coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely discharge and transfer.

About You You are an experienced and confident Registered Nurse who combines advanced clinical capability with strong leadership, communication and critical-thinking skills. You have:

- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in acute and sub-acute medical nursing, with knowledge across cardiac, respiratory and stroke nursing practice highly valued.
- Strong clinical assessment,



care planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to recognise and respond effectively to deteriorating patients and manage complex clinical situations.
- A collaborative and supportive leadership style, with demonstrated capability in team coordination, delegation, mentoring, communication and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to person-centred care, professional excellence, continuous learning and evidence-based practice, with the ability to contribute to quality initiatives, clinical audits, education and practice improvement.

Unit Profile Bayside Health Service provides services within the hospital and community setting such as Emergency Care, Primary Health and Minor Injury Care, Acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.

Lagoon Ward is a 28-bed inpatient medical unit including a 16 Bed Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) and 12 Bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
