About the Role
Bundjalung of Byron Bay Aboriginal Corporation (BOBBAC) is seeking a committed and culturally grounded Cultural Heritage Coordinator to support and coordinate our Cultural Heritage Monitor (CHM) team across Arakwal Country. Cultural heritage is central to BOBBAC’s work. This role plays a vital part in ensuring cultural protocols are upheld, Traditional Owners are respected, and employment pathways for Arakwal people are supported through meaningful on-Country work.
You will work closely with Cultural Heritage Monitors, Elders, stakeholders, and the BOBBAC team to coordinate projects, manage rosters, support operations, and maintain strong relationships with developers, contractors, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Cultural Heritage Monitors across projects on Arakwal Country, ensuring fair and transparent rostering
- Liaise with developers, contractors, consultants, and government agencies to secure suitable outcomes and work opportunities for CHMs
- Support and uphold cultural protocols and BOBBAC values on all projects
- Manage timesheets, digital reporting, and day-to-day operational requirements
- Provide on-ground support to monitors and stakeholders, using strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and invoicing in collaboration with the finance team and General Manager
About You
Essential Experience & Skills
- We strongly encourage candidates who identify as Aboriginal to apply.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in coordination within cultural heritage, land management, or environmental sectors
- Experience working within Aboriginal organisations
- Solid stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of NSW Native Title processes, including ILUAs
- Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of field-based work when required
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
