Want to be part of the MCG Casual Customer Service Event Day team?
- Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and creating unforgettable experiences for our patrons and visitors?
- Does the opportunity to work at one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues excite you? Come and work at the MCG and be part of the magic!
The Melbourne Cricket Club has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and most successful stadiums in Australia and the world – the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually, attracting over three million patrons and visitors. We are recruiting for our MCG event day team in the role of Customer Service Attendant (Level 1). Being friendly and welcoming is a good start, but we are especially looking for people who are committed to the craft of excellent customer service.
This role is about customer service, first and foremost. Events are what bring customers through our gates, but it is exceptional service that brings them back. At the MCC, we live and breathe Elevate, our customer service philosophy, bringing a genuine, customer-first mindset to every shift and treating every interaction as a chance to make someone's day.
Working at the MCC means being part of a team that takes real pride in the experiences we create, for our patrons and for each other. If you are the kind of person who notices what someone needs before they ask, and offers to help without being asked, this is your role.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:
- A can-do, positive mindset that you choose to bring to every shift; a genuine smile, the instinct to welcome people warmly and farewell them with a genuine goodbye
- A genuine passion for customer service, and pride in holding yourself to a high standard, whether you are looking after one person or ten thousand.
- A strong commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences for diverse crowds and teams.
- A genuine interest and care in looking after our patrons – whilst we can have crowds of up to 100,000 people, we want each customer who walks through our gates to feel welcomed when attending our events!
- Strong verbal communication and problem solving skills Sometimes problems can come your way but it’s how we work together as a team to provide solutions to ensure the patron experience isn’t compromised.
- The flexibility to work in a range of locations across the stadium – this may include welcoming patrons at our ticket turnstiles, answering directional questions in the seating bowl, greeting patrons at functions and ensuring all fans are having a good time.
To ensure the MCC can meet its staffing requirements for every event, it is essential that you can meet all of the following requirements:
- Be available to work a minimum of 30 events offered during the calendar year (1st January – 31st December) inclusive of eight (8) Marquee events. These events are outlined in the Availability for Work and Rostering Policy & Procedure document which is reviewed annually.
- Be available to work Thursday nights, Friday nights, the weekend and Public Holidays.
- Are over the age of 18 before 10 November 2026
- Be available to attend a face to face 20 min interview at the MCG on 13 October 2026 (between 4:00pm – 7:00pm) OR 15 October 2026 (between 11:00am – 2:00pm).
- Be available to attend a mid-week induction and training session on Tuesday 10 November 2026 5:00pm – 7:30pm OR Thursday 12 November 2:00 – 4:30pm
