About the Role

We are seeking a Project Officer Developer with strong business intelligence, reporting and data integration capability to join a NSW Government finance and analytics environment.

The position will develop and enhance business intelligence solutions within MyOutcomes, a financial and business reporting platform based on the Calumo reporting and analysis product. The successful contractor will help transform complex business and financial data into practical reporting solutions, dashboards and insights that support informed decision-making.

The role combines hands-on development with stakeholder engagement, systems integration, testing, documentation and user support. It offers the opportunity to improve an established enterprise reporting platform while identifying automation and continuous improvement opportunities.

Position: Project Officer Developer / Database Administrator
Rate: $68.56 to $111.20 per hour
Location: Parramatta
Working Arrangement: Hybrid, minimum 3 days per week in office
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Contract to 30 June 2027
Hours: 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day

Key Responsibilities

- Design and build data cubes, reporting solutions and system integrations within the MyOutcomes environment.
- Develop dynamic reports, dashboards and reporting packs that translate complex data into meaningful business information.
- Enhance existing BI functionality with a focus on usability, reliability, scalability and system performance.
- Gather and interpret business requirements,



translating stakeholder needs into practical technical and reporting solutions.
- Integrate information from multiple data sources while maintaining efficient and reliable data flows between systems.
- Analyse datasets and respond to ad hoc information requests, providing clear insights to support operational and management decisions.
- Validate reporting outputs and investigate discrepancies to maintain data quality, accuracy and consistency.
- Develop test conditions, test cases and scripts for system enhancements and integrations, documenting results and resolving identified issues.
- Troubleshoot application, reporting and integration issues and provide practical solutions to users.
- Maintain technical specifications, system documentation, user guides, procedures and training materials.
- Deliver user training and ongoing technical support to improve platform adoption and effective use of reporting capabilities.
- Partner with finance, ICT, data and operational stakeholders to coordinate reporting and system improvements.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting activities and streamline data and business processes.
- Apply appropriate development, information management, cyber security and governance standards when delivering solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen self-service reporting and the overall user experience.

Similar Australian BI roles commonly emphasise data modelling, integration, validation, performance optimisation, governance, automation and self-service analytics, which complement the core requirements of this position.

About You

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and supporting business intelligence, analytics or enterprise reporting solutions.
- Practical experience with Calumo, MyOutcomes or comparable corporate performance management and financial reporting platforms will be highly regarded.
- Strong capability in data modelling, data cubes, reporting, dashboards and integration concepts.
- Experience working with complex datasets and combining information from multiple business systems.
- Sound understanding of systems development, integration testing, troubleshooting and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to analyse reporting requirements and convert them into intuitive, fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, data warehousing or modern BI platforms such as Power BI would be advantageous.
- Understanding of data quality, reconciliation, governance and reporting controls.




- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to identify relationships, issues and improvement opportunities within complex information.
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong documentation skills covering technical specifications, procedures, user instructions and training materials.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Collaborative working style with experience engaging across business, finance, ICT and data teams.
- Experience within NSW Government, another public sector organisation or a complex finance and reporting environment would be advantageous.
- Relevant Microsoft data or analytics certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
