Port Pirie

At Avina, we're a national allied health and behaviour support organisation with 400+ clinicians supporting communities across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

We deliver Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Positive Behaviour Support, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Dietetics across the lifespan.

Our values guide how we work:
Progressive | Curious | Respectful | Collaborative | Informed | Purposeful

About the Role We're looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our Port Pirie team, supporting participants across Port Pirie and surrounding communities.

You'll work across home, school, community and telehealth settings, generally supporting participants within around 30 minutes of Port Pirie, with opportunities to cluster clients in Port Augusta where required.

Our current caseload is approximately 75% paediatric and 25% adult, giving you plenty of opportunity to build your skills across paediatric and youth practice while maintaining some variety across the lifespan.

You'll support participants across a broad range of presentations, including autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, developmental delay, physical disability, neurological conditions and mental health.
Regional Doesn't Mean Working Alone Our Port Pirie team is small, connected and collaborative, with local experience across Occupational Therapy and Positive Behaviour Support, including Functional Capacity Assessments.

You'll also be connected to clinicians across our wider South Australian and national Avina network, giving you access to additional clinical expertise, mentoring and peer support when you need it.

Clinicians from other locations regularly support the region through DIDO arrangements, creating additional opportunities for face-to-face shadowing, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver person-centred OT across home, school and community settings
- Complete functional assessments, intervention planning and ongoing therapy
- Support a predominantly paediatric and youth NDIS caseload, alongside adult participants
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, educators and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Build strong relationships with participants and the local community
- Participate in regular supervision, team meetings and professional development

Why Join Port Pirie?

- Predominantly paediatric caseload with variety across the lifespan
- A small, supportive local team where you'll genuinely know the people you work with
- Weekly team meetings and regular clinical connection
- Access to Avina's broader SA and national clinical network
- Opportunities for shadowing, mentoring and face-to-face support from visiting clinicians
- Adaptable working arrangements and autonomy over your day
- Achievable KPIs designed to support sustainable workloads and work-life balance
- Ongoing professional development and genuine career progression
- The resources of a national organisation with the connection of a local regional team

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration, or eligibility
- A person-centred and collaborative approach to therapy
- Curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to ask questions and share ideas
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle for community work

Whether you're building your career or looking for a role where you can enjoy variety, autonomy and genuine connection to the community without losing clinical support, we'd love to hear from you.
