Dental Assistant The Royal Flying Doctor Service WA (RFDS WA) is seeking experienced Dental Assistants to join our 2027 team on a casual FIFO basis, delivering essential dental services to rural and remote communities across Western Australia. This role supports both mobile and fixed-site dental clinics, helping improve access to oral healthcare for people facing geographical and socioeconomic barriers.
About the role
- Assist in the delivery of emergency, preventative and general dental care services.
- Support dentists in fixed-site and mobile dental clinics.
- Provide oral health education and advice to patients.
- Support referrals for patients requiring specialist dental treatment.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards within the dental clinic environment.
- Assist with patient administration and electronic patient record management.
About you
- Available to work FIFO for a minimum of two weeks at a time.
- Certificate IV in Dental Assisting or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Dental Assisting
- Knowledge of infection control in dental clinic settings
- Experience or interest in working with people in indigenous health
- Remote area dental experience (desirable)
- Current driver’s license
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic patient record systems
