Role Description This is a full-time Electrical Design Engineer role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home.

The Electrical Design

Engineer will develop and review electrical designs, schematics, and layouts for intelligent systems and related projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements. Day-to-day tasks include performing calculations for power distribution, selecting appropriate components, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams. The role also involves supporting project delivery through design revisions, resolving technical issues, participating in design reviews,



and providing input during installation and commissioning phases. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to optimize designs for reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining clear communication and accurate records.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for industrial or commercial systems.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Electrical Engineering and Electricity fundamentals, including safety standards and regulations.
- Candidates should possess experience in Power Distribution design, load calculations, and system configuration.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with CAD or electrical design software and relevant analysis tools.
- Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Candidates should possess solid problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe, compliant designs.
- Experience in intelligent systems, automation, or controls engineering and familiarity with Australian standards are beneficial.
