You're three to five years out of your time. You've done enough service and maintenance work to walk into a house you've never seen, find the fault, fix it properly the first time, and leave the customer feeling looked after. You've installed and serviced your share of split systems. Your work is neat because you can't help it. And you're ready to do more than turn up and do the same thing every day for someone who never picks up a tool.

Ultralec Electrical & Air Conditioning is a small, growing business based in Pomona, working across the Noosa Hinterland, Noosa and Gympie. We're putting a second van on the road and we're looking for our first qualified tradesman to run it. Ideal start is early October.

What the job actually is

Solo service and maintenance work, mostly domestic and light commercial, right across the hinterland. Fault-finding, switchboard upgrades, smoke alarms, split system installs and services, plus solar, battery and EV charger work as you get across it. You'll run your own jobs day to day, with me a phone call away and on site when it counts.

What we're looking for

- Unrestricted QLD electrical licence
- 3–5 years' experience as a qualified electrician, with real service and fault-finding work behind you
- Air conditioning experience with a restricted refrigerant handling licence (Cert II split system installs)
- Open driver's licence – you'll cover a lot of hinterland kilometres
- Comfortable with the day-to-day of a service role: roof cavities, ladder work, confined spaces, lifting split system units and long days in a Queensland summer
- Positive with people – respectful with older customers and families at home, and easy to work alongside
- Happy using ServiceM8 on your phone to keep notes and photos up to date on the job

Who this suits Someone who wants to be part of something being built, not just clock hours. Someone who owns a mistake before anyone else finds it, and does the job right in a roof cavity with nobody watching. If you spot a tired switchboard or a missing smoke alarm, you tell the customer because it helps them, not because it's a sale.

This isn't a fit for someone from a construction-only background, or someone who needs a hand on routine work. It's a great fit for a sparky who wants to get better every year and have a life outside work while they do it.
