Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Endoscopy Liaison Nurse to join the Endoscopy Bookings team on a Fixed Term appointment until August 2027.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role

In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the Planned Endoscopy Waiting List, ensuring patients are appropriately triaged, prepared and supported throughout their endoscopy journey.

You will work within the guidelines of the Victorian Planned Surgery Access Policy and relevant Northern Health procedures, helping to provide safe,



timely and equitable access to endoscopy services.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage patients on the Planned Endoscopy Waiting List
- Clinically triage and prioritise patients according to urgency
- Assess patient readiness and pre-procedure requirements
- Book patients onto endoscopy lists and coordinate with relevant teams
- Provide patient education and preparation instructions
- Conduct waitlist audits and maintain accurate patient records
- Monitor and escalate overdue and high-priority patients
- Identify and resolve clinical or booking issues
- Support effective list utilisation and backfilling of cancellations
- Work collaboratively within the Endoscopy Bookings team

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration with minimum 5 years of postgraduate experience in acute setting.
- Senior nurse with strong clinical knowledge and understanding of endoscopy/surgical procedures - experience in endoscopy, theatre, surgery, ICU or ED will be highly regarded
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Experience in care coordination, endoscopy/surgical bookings, or access management




- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
