Bring your engineering expertise to the management of Council’s road and transport assets. You’ll assess road and transport infrastructure needs, prioritise renewal works using asset data, deliver targeted renewal projects, provide technical advice, and support planning and investment decisions across the road network.

What you’ll be doing

- Develop and support road infrastructure renewal programs through asset assessment, technical evaluation, project scoping and strategic planning.
- Use asset condition and performance data to identify renewal priorities, inform investment decisions and support delivery of Council’s road and transport program.
- Provide engineering and asset management advice, including feasibility assessments, project designs, technical reports and recommendations.
- Investigate customer requests and road, transport, traffic and parking matters, undertaking inspections and providing practical engineering advice and recommendations.
- Support external funding applications and manage associated reporting and funding requirements.
- Undertake project management activities across the project lifecycle and, where assigned, manage routine road and transport projects from planning through to completion.

What you’ll bring

- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, and/or at least three years’ relevant experience in roads, transport, highways, asset management or infrastructure project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in road asset management and/or planning, designing and delivering civil infrastructure projects, including inspections and construction reviews.
- Solid analytical and project management skills, with the ability to use data and technical information to assess needs, manage risk and inform decisions.
- Clear communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide practical advice and work collaboratively with customers, contractors, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
- A data-driven,



adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with strong digital literacy and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
- National Police Check certificate dated within six months, current Tasmanian driver’s licence and Construction Industry White Card.
