Faculty Support Coordinator
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Gold Coast region’s growing and innovative faculty of Business, Education, Hospitality & Language. As the Faculty Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the faculty's operations and strategic initiatives by providing high-level administrative and coordination support. Acting as a central point of contact for a diverse range of stakeholders, you will foster effective communication and collaboration across the faculty.
You will also coordinate administrative services that contribute to positive student outcomes, ensuring an exceptional student experience and supporting the successful delivery of key programs and services.
Reporting to the Director of Faculty, this is a part-time (0.9 FTE) AO5 position offered on a fixed-term basis until 18 December 2026. The role is based across TAFE Queensland's Southport and Robina campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality and timely administrative support to Faculty management which will enable effective general management and efficient operation of the faculty. Support may include:
- Liaison and follow-up with key stakeholders including teachers, students, external and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with preparation of reports, proposals and/or presentations for clients or internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with educational planning processes.
- Assisting with tasks that the support the management of Faculty staff including educational delivery staff
- Assisting Faculty management, where required, with financial management and procurement support.
- Establish, priorities and influence effective student management and engagement activities through the co-ordination of a Faculty Support Hub comprising of staff from a range of regional portfolios.
- Establish, maintain, and continually improve the effective flow and impact of communication between Faculty management, staff, students, the community, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain and review administrative systems and procedures in support of the business operations of the faculty and ensure the availability of accurate and timely reports on a variety of issues relating to Faculty management.
- Ensure faculty processes meet audit requirements and comply with regional requirements to ensure consistency of student experience and compliance with established policy and procedure.
- Maintain an understanding of commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
- Actively engage with industry, business and the community.
- Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety,
wellness and sustainability.
How You Will Be Assessed Within the context of the role description above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to manage an administrative function within a multidisciplinary environment that achieves quality work outcomes in an environment of strict and competing deadlines.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including well developed liaison and negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with a broad range of internal and external clients.
- Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to investigate and research issues and provide appropriate reports and recommendations.
- Capacity to lead and provide input into strategic, business and operational planning processes within a diverse work unit.
- Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing setting.
