Sheet Metal Solutions NSW is a 100% Australian-owned family business based in Riverstone. We specialise in precision sheet-metal manufacturing, including laser cutting, CNC bending, rolling and fabrication, working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Trades Assistant / Factory Hand to join our workshop team.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy manufacturing environment. Your main responsibilities will be loading and unloading materials, organising and packing customer orders, while also assisting our team with laser cutting, CNC bending and general sheet-metal production.

For the right person, we are happy to provide training and develop your skills across our machinery and manufacturing processes.

Key Duties

- Loading and unloading sheet metal and other materials
- Sorting, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch
- Checking parts and quantities against job paperwork
- Organising laser-cut components into the correct jobs
- Receiving and storing incoming materials
- Assisting with loading customer and delivery vehicles
- Assisting with the operation of laser cutting machines
- Loading and unloading sheets and components from the laser
- Assisting with CNC press brake / bending operations
- Deburring, linishing and finishing components
- Drilling, tapping and saw cutting
- Moving materials and jobs throughout the workshop
- Assisting tradespeople and machine operators as required
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe

What We're Looking For





We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Organised and able to prioritise customer orders
- Careful and accurate when sorting and packing components
- Able to follow job sheets and check part quantities
- Mechanically minded and interested in machinery
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Comfortable with manual handling and physical workshop duties
- Willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities
- Safety and quality focused
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

Previous experience in sheet metal, laser cutting, CNC bending, fabrication, manufacturing, engineering or warehousing would be highly regarded. A forklift licence is highly regarded.
