Field Operations Manager – Commercial Cleaning

Cleaneroo Commercial | Sydney | $95,000–$115,000 + super + vehicle/car allowance This is not a job where you spend your day sitting behind a desk.

You'll be out across Sydney running your own portfolio of commercial cleaning sites — meeting cleaners, inspecting sites, solving problems, helping clients and making sure your part of the business runs properly.

Cleaneroo currently services more than 150 commercial sites across Sydney, including offices, schools, medical facilities, childcare and strata properties.

We're growing, and we're looking for another strong operator to take ownership of a portfolio alongside our existing operations team.

Your job is simple to understand:

Own your sites. Look after your cleaners. Look after your clients. Fix problems before they become bigger problems. You'll typically manage approximately 50+ sites once fully established.

You won't be sitting at Head Office waiting for someone to tell you where to go next.

You'll organise your own field schedule and be trusted to manage your portfolio.

Most site activity happens in the afternoon and evening, so a typical working window is approximately 1pm–9pm, although this varies depending on your sites and what is happening that week.

There will occasionally be earlier starts, new-site launches and weekend requirements.

This is a field operations role, so we're looking for someone who likes being out amongst their team rather than behind a computer all day.

What you'll be responsible for

You will:

- Manage the day-to-day performance of your portfolio of client sites
- Conduct regular quality inspections
- Build strong relationships with cleaners and subcontractors
- Coach and retrain cleaners when standards fall
- Induct new cleaners properly
- Launch and onboard recent client sites and supervise their initial cleans
- Speak with clients and resolve service issues quickly
- Investigate complaints rather than simply passing them on
- Identify problems before the client needs to tell us about them
- Maintain reliable backup coverage across your area
- Assist with interviewing and onboarding new cleaners
- Coordinate consumables and equipment requirements
- Identify opportunities for additional work at existing client sites
- Inspect, scope,



estimate and prepare quotes for ad hoc work such as carpet cleaning, deep cleans, pressure cleaning, window cleaning and other periodic services
- Understand labour, equipment and time requirements well enough to price smaller additional works accurately
- Coordinate and supervise approved ad hoc jobs from quote through to completion
- Make sure additional works are completed profitably and to the standard promised to the client
- Keep accurate records of inspections, issues and follow-ups using our operating systems
- Work closely with our Head of Operations and Helpdesk team

This is not a clipboard supervisor position. There will be times when something goes wrong and you'll need to roll your sleeves up, help your team and make sure the job gets finished.

But your primary responsibility is leading and managing the operation, not being the cleaner.

What we're really looking for

Experience matters, but we're more interested in how you operate. You'll probably be successful here if:

- You have experience supervising frontline teams in cleaning, facilities, hospitality, hotels, security or another field-service environment
- You're comfortable managing multiple locations at once
- You communicate confidently with both cleaners and professional clients
- You're organised without needing someone chasing you
- You can have difficult conversations respectfully
- You're calm when something goes wrong
- You're naturally observant and notice when standards aren't right
- You genuinely enjoy developing people
- You have enough commercial awareness to scope a job, estimate labour and understand whether work is being delivered profitably
- You're comfortable making decisions
- You're happy working afternoons and evenings
- You're looking for somewhere you can stay, grow and take on more responsibility

We're particularly interested in people who have managed culturally diverse frontline workforces.

The kind of leader we don't want





This role will not suit someone who manages by threatening people, constantly replacing cleaners or blaming the team whenever something goes wrong. We want someone who can hold people accountable and still have people want to work for them.

Likewise, this won't suit someone who needs constant direction.

You'll have support, systems and a leadership team behind you — but you'll also be expected to think for yourself.

What success looks like

Six months into the role, we'd expect:

- Your clients know you and trust you
- Your cleaners know what you expect
- Problems are being solved quickly
- Complaints are low and followed through properly
- Your inspections are happening consistently
- You have reliable backup cleaners available
- New sites are being launched properly
- Additional work is being identified, quoted and delivered properly
- You understand the commercial performance of the work you're responsible for
- Your portfolio is stable
- We don't need to chase you to find out what is happening

If that's happening, you'll be given more responsibility.

Where the role can go

Cleaneroo is continuing to grow. This role can develop into larger portfolio responsibility, Area Management and senior operational leadership.

We prefer promoting strong operators from inside the business rather than continually hiring above them.

You'll work closely with our senior operations team and the founder of the company, so you'll have direct exposure to how a growing service business is actually run.

Package

$100,000–$120,000 + super, depending on experience.
