Arafura is developing the Nolans rare earths project in the Northern Territory, a greenfield operation producing the rare earths that will enable the global energy transition and future technologies.
We are moving into delivery and construction, and we are looking for a Finance Manager, Projects to take end to end financial accountability for a billion-dollar project that has never been built in Australia.
This is a hands-on role. You will design and run the systems, controls, forecasts and reporting that keep Nolans on schedule and budget, and keep lenders, the Board and the Executive well informed. It suits someone who is comfortable working as part of a lean team.
Based in Perth, reporting to the Chief Projects Officer with a functional line to the Chief Financial Officer, with regular travel to site.
What you'll deliver
- The internal financial systems, processes and controls that manage day to day project transactions within Arafura's financial framework
- Forward and backward looking management reporting that gives Project Leadership the insight to act early on schedule and budget
- Project information into the lenders' financial model, equity model and cashflow forecasting, alongside Business Development and Corporate Development
- Cost control and payment processes that align with agreed scope, quality and timing
- Strategic analysis and commercial insight that guides decisions on Nolans and across the business, including the financial modelling and scenario analysis behind Horizon Two growth pathways
- Active leadership as a member of the Projects Leadership Team, and close collaboration with the CFO and Financial Controller on group reporting and compliance
What you'll bring
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, with 10+ years' financial experience on major processing or industrial projects
- Sound knowledge of the systems required for full end to end financial management of a project within an Australian ASX listed entity
- Solid analytical skills with proven experience in financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Proven ability to extract insight from data that informs proactive and timely management decisions
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a track record of building trusted relationships with internal and external financial stakeholders
- Experience in greenfield mega project is desirable
