The Role
MULTIPLE CASUAL SEASONAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE – FORKLIFT OPERATORS
We are currently seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join our harvest season operations at our Mission Beach processing facility. In this role, you will be an essential part of our logistics and despatch team, ensuring the smooth movement, storage, and dispatch of our premium Australian black tiger prawns.
You will work collaboratively with our wider processing team to support effective warehouse operations, including picking, packing, loading, and preparing orders for distribution. We are looking for reliable, safety-conscious operators who take pride in their work and are ready to contribute to Australia's largest prawn producer.
Season: Early November 2026 to Christmas 2026 (with the possibility of transferring to our Proserpine facility after Christmas for continued work).
A current Forklift Ticket with practical experience is essential for this role. While experience in a cold food or processing environment is preferred, we offer on-the-job training for the right candidates who bring a outstanding attitude and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Operating forklifts to move, stack, and organise palletised goods within the warehouse and cold storage areas.
- Supporting the despatch team with picking, packing, and preparing orders for timely dispatch.
- Assisting with loading and unloading of trucks and containers.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring stock is stored safely and efficiently.
- Collaborating with processing staff to ensure seamless workflow between production and despatch.
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety protocols, including cold-chain requirements.
Role Requirements
- A current Forklift Ticket with demonstrated practical experience.
- Full availability for the seasonal period from early November to Christmas 2026.
- Interest and availability to transfer to Proserpine after Christmas is highly regarded.
- Willingness to work a rotating shift roster,
including early mornings, afternoons, and potential weekend shifts as required.
- Ability to speak and understand English to a good standard for clear communication regarding safety procedures, task instructions, and teamwork.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, with potential for Saturday work.
- Ability to work in a cold food-processing and warehousing setting (temperatures may vary).
- Full working rights in Australia and a reliable way of getting to and from work.
- A proactive, team-player attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of a warehousing and cold-environment role, including repetitive lifting and operating machinery.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment physical functional assessment and alcohol and drug test.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety, with the ability to adhere strictly to Queensland Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards at all times – particularly given the high-risk nature of forklift operations.
Role Offerings
- Hourly rate starting from over $32.00 per hour (including 25% casual loading).
- Work with a supportive, passionate, and collaborative team.
- Huge potential for career development and progression.
- Opportunities for skill development.
- Workplace health and wellbeing support for you and your family.
