Phoenix Supply Chain is seeking a proactive, responsible and results-driven Freight Forwarding Sales Executive / Business Development Manager to develop new customers in Melbourne and across Australia. This is a new business development role focused on actively creating opportunities rather than simply waiting for enquiries. You will identify potential customers, approach Australian importers and businesses, build your own sales pipeline, follow up consistently and develop long-term customer relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities
- Target Australian importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, e-commerce businesses and other potential customers
- Generate leads through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, networking and referrals
- Build and manage your own sales pipeline
- Understand customers' freight requirements and provide suitable logistics solutions
- Prepare quotations and follow up proactively
- Convert prospects into long-term customers
- Respond to customer calls, emails and messages promptly and professionally
- Take ownership of customer enquiries and follow issues through until resolved
- Maintain regular communication with customers and work closely with our China and Australia operations teams
About you

- Existing relationships with Australian importers or businesses involved in China–Australia trade would be an advantage
