We are looking for an experienced and motivated GPS Machine Control Technician to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and industry experience who wants to work across a range of civil construction machinery and machine-control systems.
About the role
As a GPS Machine Control Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, commissioning, troubleshooting and ongoing technical support of machine-control systems across a range of construction equipment. The position will involve a combination of workshop and field-based work.
Key responsibilities
- Complete GPS/machine-control system installations
- Machine measurements, calibration and commissioning
- Installation and setup of machine-control hardware and software
- On-site troubleshooting, repairs and breakdown support
- Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and communication faults
- Providing phone-based technical support to customers and machine operators
- Providing ongoing technical support and system assistance on-site
- Setting up and configuring machine-control systems
- Working with surveyors, operators, supervisors and project teams
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service
About You
- Previous experience with GPS/machine-control systems
- Strong mechanical, electrical and technical troubleshooting skills
- Experience installing and commissioning construction technology
- The ability to work independently and solve problems in the field
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- A strong attention to detail
- A positive, can-do attitude
- A current driver’s licence
- The ability and willingness to travel and work away from home when required
- Experience with systems such as Trimble, Topcon or similar machine-control platforms will be highly regarded.
