Position Type: School Leadership | Employment Status: Fixed Term/Contract | Classification Level: POR3
Xavier College is seeking a compassionate House Director – Pastoral Care (HDPC) to join our vibrant Two Wells Campus (R–11, expanding to Year 12 in 2027). This is a key leadership position (POR3) responsible for providing strategic direction and support for student wellbeing, engagement and pastoral care within a House community.
Multiple positions are available with a January 2027 commencement date, for a fixed period of 4 years. This position involves a permanent teaching role.
Working in close partnership with your HDPC and House Director - Teaching and Learning (HDT&L;) counterparts and the Two Wells Leadership team, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership, building staff capability, strengthening House culture, and fostering a safe, inclusive and values-based setting in which students can thrive.
This position involves a teaching component and should be read in conjunction with the Teacher Position Information Document.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead student wellbeing, engagement and behaviour excellence across Years 7–12
- Shape a positive House culture grounded in respect, understanding, affection and humour
- Mentor and develop staff through coaching, collaboration and evidence-informed pastoral practices
- Influence student growth, engagement and success through proactive leadership and case management
- Lead and support Oratory teachers to deliver high-quality programs
- Drive restorative practices and wellbeing initiatives that strengthen student relationships
- Work as part of a dynamic leadership team focused on student wellbeing, engagement and holistic development
- Partner with the HDT&L; to provide integrated support for every student
- Guide students and families through key transitions, wellbeing challenges and future pathways
- Make a meaningful impact on student wellbeing, engagement and school culture
