Information Architect | Contract | Canberra / Hybrid
Firesoft People is seeking an experienced Information Architect to support a Federal Government change program. The role will design, structure and govern information assets to improve service delivery and align with business needs and enterprise architecture objectives.
Contract details
- Initial contract to 30 June 2027, with up to three extensions of up to 12 months each
- Expected start date: 1 October 2026
- Canberra location, with a preference for 2 days per week onsite
- Interstate candidates considered, with onsite attendance required for quarterly PI Planning
- Must be able to obtain Baseline security clearance
Key responsibilities
- Assess the current information landscape, including assets, repositories, structures and information flows.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to capture business requirements and identify information management risks and opportunities.
- Design future-state information architectures that support business capabilities and service delivery.
- Develop conceptual and logical information models, taxonomies, metadata frameworks and classification structures.
- Define integration and interoperability requirements across systems and services.
- Establish information governance standards that improve information quality, accessibility, compliance and usability.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise, business, data and solution architecture.
- Produce architecture documentation,
governance presentations and knowledge transfer materials.
- Support implementation and adoption, contributing to Agile delivery and maintaining work items in Azure DevOps.
Skills and experience
- Proven experience designing, implementing and governing enterprise information architectures.
- Solid expertise in information modelling, metadata, taxonomy, classification and content structures.
- Experience assessing current-state environments and developing sustainable future-state architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to establish information governance frameworks and standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills, including working with executives, architects and delivery teams.
- Understanding of privacy, security classification, records management and regulatory obligations.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using Azure DevOps.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to delivery.
