About the Role

n

This is a unique opportunity to work with a specialised caseload, with a strong focus on Deaf and hard-of-hearing children and young people, including Auslan and deaf-specific services.

n

The caseload is predominantly paediatric, with some early adolescent clients, and you'll work with a well-established referral base and existing caseload.

n

You can expect:

n

n
- A strong volume of referrals for therapy programs
n
- Collaboration with the Department of Health and Department of Education
n
- Primarily short-term interventions and targeted therapy programs
n
- Minimal NDIS involvement and limited long-term case management
n
- Opportunities to provide outreach services across regional North Queensland
n
- Collaboration with experienced Allied Health Assistants and a multidisciplinary team
n

n

This role would suit a clinician who enjoys variety, collaboration and specialised practice, and who is confident stepping into an existing caseload.

About You

n

We're looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who has:

n

n
- Relevant Speech Pathology qualifications and professional registration
n
- Previous clinical experience - this role is not suited to a new graduate
n




- The confidence to independently manage an established caseload
n
- An interest in working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
n
- A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary practice
n
- A willingness to travel for occasional outreach to Cairns and Mackay
n

n

Experience with Auslan or deaf-specific services would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right clinician.

n
