Your opportunity: * Provide educational counselling and support services within schools to ensure that the best possible assistance services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and communities. * Provide cross cultural awareness training to the broader school community. Responsibilities: * Provide educational counselling and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.



* Develop activities and programs that encourage student and family engagement in education. * Connect students and families with community and external support services. * Promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives and protocols across the school. * Provide cultural advice and information to school staff and administrators. * Support the effective use of government-funded programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. * Build strong partnerships between students, families, school staff and the wider community. About You:
The successful applicant will demonstrate: * Solid cultural knowledge and awareness of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families and community members. * A genuine commitment to improving educational outcomes and participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. * The ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, community organisations and support services. * Robust organisational, advocacy and problem-solving skills. * The ability to provide culturally appropriate advice and support in a professional and respectful manner.
