Prospero Teaching are proud to be partnering with a school in Tarneit, Melbourne, to appoint a passionate and dedicated Prep/Foundation Teacher for an immediate start.

This is an exciting prospect for a primary teacher who loves working with young learners and wants to make a genuine difference during their first year of formal schooling.

As a Prep Teacher, you will play an important role in helping students transition into school, develop their confidence and independence, and establish the foundations they need for a successful primary education.

The Opportunity

The successful teacher will be responsible for creating a warm, nurturing and engaging classroom environment where Prep students feel confident, supported and excited to learn.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Teach a Prep/Foundation class

- Support students through their transition into formal schooling

- Establish positive classroom routines, relationships and expectations

- Build strong foundations in early literacy, phonics and numeracy

- Develop students' oral language, communication and social skills

- Create engaging, hands-on and age-appropriate learning experiences

- Support students to develop independence, confidence and resilience

- Plan and deliver differentiated learning to meet individual needs

- Monitor student progress through assessment and observation

- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and the wider school community

- Work collaboratively with colleagues, Learning Support and specialist staff

- Contribute to student wellbeing, engagement and achievement

About You

We are looking for a teacher who:





- Holds recognised teaching qualifications and is VIT registered or eligible for registration

- Has experience teaching Prep/Foundation or the early primary years

- Has a genuine passion for working with young children

- Understands the importance of the transition into formal schooling

- Is confident teaching early literacy, phonics and numeracy

- Creates a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment

- Has strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

- Can plan engaging and differentiated learning experiences

- Is enthusiastic, creative and patient

- Works collaboratively as part of a team

- Is committed to student wellbeing and individual achievement
