Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead the delivery of environmental engineering and remediation projects across Sydney, based in our Parramatta office. This role is suited to an experienced engineer who is ready to take ownership of their own project portfolio, lead field and design work, and mentor the engineers around them, while working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

What you will do
n
n
- Take end to end ownership of assigned projects, including scope, budget, programme, client reporting, and project financials
n
- Plan and lead fieldwork including construction quality assurance, inspections, and verification of environmental protection, remediation, gas and vapour mitigation, and containment systems
n
- Prepare and issue design specifications, quality assurance reports, and technical reports for client delivery
n
- Apply original technical approaches to complex engineering problems, and evaluate and improve existing systems and methods
n
- Conduct internal QA review of designs, models, and documentation prepared by junior and mid-level engineers before client issue
n
- Develop scopes of work, work plans, and fee proposals across projects of varying scale
n
- Manage client relationships independently, lead client meetings, and identify opportunities to extend or expand services
n
- Prepare and approve safety documentation including HSMPs, JSAs and SWMS for the project team
n
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, providing structured feedback and technical guidance
n

What we are looking for
n
n
- Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
n
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated experience delivering projects in the landfill and contaminated land sector
n
- Proven ability to manage projects end to end, including scoping, budgeting, programme management, and client reporting
n
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with sound professional judgement on complex technical problems
n
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and environmental legislation
n
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to prepare client-facing reports independently
n
- A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in mentoring and developing others
n
- Chartered status (CPEng, NER or RPEQ), or genuine progress toward it, is highly regarded
n
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to site as required
n
- Proficient with common engineering and computer software
n
