The Role A great career opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer to join our Insurance team in Sydney. In this role you will be working with Michael Down and Nikki Cassar across a range of litigation matters in the area of Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. Our team has been acknowledged for its leading position working with a local government mutual and with a major insurer in Australia.

Initially, you will manage smaller matters with minimal supervision in the Local and District Court working up towards larger matters in the District and Supreme Courts.

Responsibilities will include the following:

- File management including meeting deadlines and managing documents
- Reviewing evidence and preparing advices on indemnity, liability and quantum
- Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally
- Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing opinion
- Preparing court documents,



including statements of evidence
- Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners
- Preparing for, managing online processes and appearing in Court
- Briefing and liaising with counsel

Who We Are Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Between 1-2 years’ PQE, ideally from a defendant firm. Candidates with a plaintiff background will be considered
- Demonstrated experience in litigation
- A professional approach with a client service focus
- The ability to prioritise tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment
- A strong academic record from a well-respected university
