Role Description This full-time remote Junior Developer role is focused on supporting the design, development, and maintenance of Hunter Wave’s device management software for vending machines. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, maintainable code under the guidance of senior developers, fixing bugs, and assisting with new feature implementation.
The Junior
Developer collaborates with the engineering team to test applications, review logs, and help ensure reliable communication between vending devices and the platform.
Responsibilities also include participating in code reviews, updating documentation, and learning company standards and best practices. The role offers mentorship and opportunities to grow technical skills while contributing to real-world software solutions.
Qualifications
- Foundational programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or Java) and familiarity with basic data structures and algorithms.
- Understanding of web technologies,
such as REST APIs, HTTP, and basic front-end or back-end development concepts.
- Basic knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL), including creating queries and working with structured data.
- Comfort with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Solid problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from feedback and mentoring.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and in meetings, and to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
- Relevant coursework, bootcamp completion, or personal projects in software development; internship or project experience with IoT or device management is a plus.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
