Role Description This is a remote, entry-level contract role for a Junior Developer at Hunter Wave.

The Junior

Developer will assist in building and maintaining software components that support device management for vending machines, including implementing features, fixing bugs, and performing code reviews under guidance. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, collaborating with senior developers, and contributing to API integrations and data processing workflows. The role also involves participating in stand-up meetings, updating documentation, and helping troubleshoot issues reported from production environments. The position is designed to provide mentorship and hands-on experience with contemporary development practices in a real-world IoT and device management setting.

Qualifications

- Foundational programming skills (e.g., in languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java)



and familiarity with object-oriented or functional programming concepts.
- Basic understanding of web technologies and APIs, such as RESTful services, JSON, and HTTP.
- Experience or coursework with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling concepts.
- Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to read technical documentation, troubleshoot issues, and learn new tools and frameworks quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Interest in IoT, device management, or embedded systems; prior projects or internships in these areas are a plus.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not strictly required.
