We are partnering with a market-leading HealthTech client to architect, scale, and secure their next-generation clinical platforms and sensitive health-data systems. We are seeking a skilled Kubernetes Engineer to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of cluster architecture, deployment automation, and zero-trust container security within a highly regulated digital health workplace.
In this role, you will embed as a trusted technical authority alongside our client's platform engineering and clinical software teams. You will be instrumental in deploying highly available Kubernetes clusters, building robust CI/CD delivery engines, configuring fine-grained access controls for sensitive patient data, and optimising cluster compute efficiency.
? Visa & Sponsorship OptionsAs the employer of record, we provide full visa and migration support for qualified engineering talent deployed to our clients:
- 482 On-Hire Sponsorship Transfers: Fully supported for qualified candidates currently in Australia on an existing 482 visa looking to transfer sponsorship.
- New 482 Visa Sponsorship: Available for qualified engineers meeting commercial experience and technical requirements.
- Temporary & Working Visa Holders: Open to all working visa holders seeking a direct pathway to employer sponsorship.
Core Responsibilities
- Cluster Architecture & • Deployment:
Architect, deploy, and maintain resilient, highly available production Kubernetes clusters across managed cloud platforms (EKS, GKE, or AKS).
- CI/CD & • Release Automation:
Engineer and maintain automated build, deployment, and scaling pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
- HealthTech Security & • Compliance:
Implement rigorous container security controls—including Kubernetes Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), network policies, pod security standards, and secrets management—to protect sensitive patient information.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate and standardise cloud resources, networking, and cluster provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Observability & • Performance Tuning:
Deploy, configure, and manage comprehensive observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch) to monitor cluster health, pod latency, and system events.
- Cost Optimisation & • Reliability:
Continuously analyse and optimise cluster resource utilisation, workload rightsizing, and cloud infrastructure spend without compromising platform availability.
- Technical Documentation: Author and maintain operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and disaster recovery procedures for engineering teams.
Selection Criteria
- Kubernetes & Container Mastery: Proven commercial track record as a Kubernetes Engineer, Platform Engineer, or DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Docker and core Kubernetes primitives (Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, Services).
- Cloud Platform Experience: Hands-on experience configuring managed Kubernetes services (AWS EKS, GCP GKE, or Azure AKS).
- Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or Go for custom automation and tooling.
- Networking Foundations: Solid understanding of container networking, ingress controllers, DNS resolution, and load balancing.
- Location Requirements: Currently residing in Australia with valid work rights or eligibility for 482 visa sponsorship/transfer.
