Company Description Prenten AI builds physical AI solutions that operate in real-world environments across construction, STEM education, and sport. The company enables robots to perform inspections, document progress, and capture 3D site data so construction teams can work more safely and make better decisions. In schools, Prenten AI introduces industry-grade robotics and practical AI learning to help students gain future-ready technical skills.

For sports, its robotics and edge-AI platform delivers live biomechanics, performance, and tactical insights to coaches and teams, enhancing training and competitive outcomes.

We have working software, team and customers. Your role is to bring strong technical acumen, researcher to pragmatic execution mindset, while owning the capabilities related to Computer Vision and Vision based AI systems / insights.

Role Description This is a full-time, remote role based ideally in Australia (Sydney, or your ability to spend time in Sydney, would a big bonus) for a Lead Engineer / CTO specializing in Computer Vision AI systems and 3D Reconstruction. The role involves leading the technical direction and architecture of core AI products. You will lead engineering across the full vision stack and set its direction.

This is a hands-on role. You will write code, review every design decision, and hire the team that grows around you.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Engineering and Computer Science,

including systems design, algorithms, and real-time computing.
- Proficiency in Software Development, with experience building production-quality systems for computer vision, 3D reconstruction, robotics, or edge-AI.
- Deep, practical experience with 3D reconstruction. You have shipped SLAM, structure from motion, NeRF or Gaussian splatting, or dense mapping systems, and you know where they break in the field.
- Production experience with object detection or segmentation, including building datasets / small models from scratch and evaluating models
- Awareness of Cybersecurity principles and practices relevant to connected robotics, edge devices, and data privacy.
- Experience preferably in AI, robotics, or spatial computing domains.
- Hands-on experience with up-to-date CV/ML frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow), and real-time data processing pipelines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics) or equivalent practical experience.

What we offer

- A founding technical role with meaningful rewards for the right person (equity and a direct line to founders, product and clients).
- Work on real field data, robot fleet to build on, and a pipeline that already ships.
- Prenten provided "beast machine" to run your experiments on
- Freedom to drive the technical agenda.
