About the role
Bentley Quarry is seeking an experienced Loader Driver to join our operations team on a full-time basis in Bentley, NSW 2480. This is a crucial position within our quarry operations, where you will be responsible for operating heavy plant machinery to load and transport materials efficiently and safely. As a Loader Driver, you will play a vital role in maintaining the productivity and safety standards of our quarry operations, ensuring that all materials are handled according to our strict quality and safety protocols.
Key responsibilities
- Operate front-end loaders and other heavy plant machinery to load trucks, storage areas and other designated locations with quarry materials
- Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance on plant equipment to ensure optimal operational condition
- Follow all safety protocols, standard operating procedures and site-specific requirements at all times
- Maintain accurate records of materials loaded, equipment usage and daily operational activities
- Communicate effectively with other team members, supervisors and truck drivers to coordinate loading operations and ensure workflow efficiency
- Monitor stockpile levels and material quality, reporting any issues or concerns to management
- Operate equipment in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies
- Contribute to a positive and safe workplace culture by actively participating in toolbox meetings and safety initiatives
What we're looking for
- Proven experience operating front-end loaders and similar heavy plant machinery in a quarry or construction environment
- Valid White Card (Construction Induction) and willingness to maintain all necessary safety certification
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in equipment operation and maintenance
- Preferably 5+ years of experience in quarry, mining or heavy plant operations
- Experience with multiple types of plant equipment and familiarity with quarry operations
