We’re looking for a locally connected recruiter in Australia to help us fill small groups of Australian English speakers for a paid audio recording project. You’ll use your own local network to find participants, organize them into recording groups, and manage them through to a finished recording that we check and accept.

This is a results-based role: you’re paid per group that finishes recording AND passes our check not per hour worked.

What is the recording? It’s a natural conversation between the people in the group. Each speaker needs to talk for about 2 minutes total during the conversation. They can talk about anything they want, there’s no fixed topic or script. The goal is just a normal, relaxed conversation where everyone gets their fair share of talking time.

What does “passes our check” mean? After a group records, our team listens to it to make sure it’s clear, complete, and follows the recording instructions. If it’s good, we accept it and you get paid. If something’s wrong (bad audio, missing parts, etc.), we’ll ask the group to re-record that part. This check is sometimes called “QA” (quality assurance), just means “our team reviewed it and it’s positive.”

The recording, what it actually involves

- It’s a normal conversation between the people in the group.
- Each speaker needs to talk for about 2 minutes total during the conversation.
- They can talk about anything, there’s no set topic or script. Just a normal, natural chat.
- We need recordings made in 3 different noise settings: quiet (e.g. at home), mid (e.g. a normal room with some background sound), and noisy (e.g. a busy coffee shop). So recording in a noisy coffee shop is totally fine, that’s exactly one of the settings we want.
- Recorded using the Voice Memos app on an iPhone. No special equipment or apps needed,



just the built-in Voice Memos app that comes with every iPhone.
- Each participant can only take part in ONE recording. You can’t reuse the same person across multiple groups, every group needs to be made up of people who haven’t recorded for us before.

What you’ll do

- Source participants: Identify and recruit Australian English speakers within your local network or community.
- Organize groups: Assemble participants into recording groups of 2, 3, or 4 people.
- Manage consent: Ensure every participant reviews and signs the Informed Consent Form (ICF) before recording.
- Coordinate recording: Guide each group through the recording (see “The recording” above for what’s needed), using the Voice Memos app on an iPhone.
- Get it accepted: Submit the recordings and help fix anything our review team flags, until the group’s recording is accepted.
- Track progress: Provide regular status updates on groups in progress (sourcing, signed, recorded, submitted, accepted).

What we’re looking for

- Based in (or with strong local ties to) Australia.
- An existing personal or community network of Australian English speakers locally.
- Comfortable coordinating small groups of people and managing simple logistics (scheduling, consent forms, recording device use).
- Access to an iPhone with the Voice Memos app (or ability to ensure participants do) for recording.
- Reliable communication and ability to hit agreed timelines.
- Prior recruiting, community organizing, or gig-coordination experience is a plus, but not required.

This payment covers your full work on that group, finding people, organizing, consent, helping with recording, and getting it accepted.
