Role Description

We're looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to take ownership of key financial and management accounting activities, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and project financial reporting. In this broad, hands-on role, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insights, support decision-making, and help improve finance systems, processes and controls. It's an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers and wants to grow their commercial capability in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Prospect:

Your responsibilities will include

- Own month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis for Board and Executive reporting.




- Prepare and maintain budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Work with Project Managers to provide project and program financial reporting, including cost and performance analysis.
- Coordinate and assist with audit, statutory reporting, tax, compliance and financial controls.
- Assist with the preparation and tracking of Research and Development Tax Incentive (R&DTI;) activities.
- Support fixed asset and capital expenditure tracking.
- Provide financial insight to leaders across the business to support decision-making.
- Improve finance systems, reporting, controls and processes, including greater use of automation and tools such as Xero and Power BI.

Qualifications

- Approximately 4–6 years’ relevant accounting experience across financial and/or management accounting.
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CPA, CA or equivalent recognised professional accounting qualification, or working towards completion.
- Experience across month-end, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence working with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong systems aptitude and an interest in improving how finance operates.
- A proactive, adaptable and hands-on approach.
