About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to encourage students to ask life’s big questions, examine diverse perspectives and engage thoughtfully with religion, ethics, philosophy, culture and society. Through stimulating classroom discussion and inquiry, you will help students become informed, reflective and compassionate global citizens.
You will teach Religious and Values Education (RaVE), guiding students through Religious Education, Philosophy and Social Anthropology. Teaching will align with the Australian Curriculum for Years 7 to 10, the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and the School’s distinctive Vardy Method RaVE curriculum.
The successful candidate will ideally also have the experience or capacity to teach senior students through IBDP Philosophy and/or HSC Studies of Religion.

About You
You are an engaging and accomplished educator who brings intellectual curiosity, energy and genuine care to the classroom. You are excited by the opportunity to challenge students’ thinking, create space for respectful dialogue and bring complex ideas to life:
- Experience teaching HSC Studies of Religion and/or IBDP Philosophy in a similar environment is highly desirable
- A genuine passion for Religious Education, Philosophy, ethics and the humanities
- A strong commitment to student learning,
wellbeing and holistic development
- Outstanding teaching practice within and beyond the classroom
- Deep subject knowledge and the ability to engage students across a broad range of ages and abilities
- The capacity to create inclusive learning environments in which diverse perspectives are explored respectfully
- A collaborative approach to professional engagement and ongoing learning
- Experience teaching, or a willingness to train in, the Australian Curriculum and International Baccalaureate MYP and DP frameworks
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the School’s pastoral and co-curricular programs
- A clear commitment to respecting the School’s Anglican ethos and spirit of inclusion
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
All CGS team members are required to hold:
- Valid ACT Teacher Quality Institute registration or eligibility to obtain registration
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration
- A current National Police Check
- Full working rights in Australia.
