The Client Mitchcon Pty Ltd is an established Australian construction company specialising in concrete pumping, concrete spraying and high-rise concrete placement. Established in 1995, Mitchcon operates throughout Melbourne and Regional Victoria and supports commercial, civil, industrial and residential construction projects.
The Role Mitchcon is seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the maintenance, testing, inspection and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems used across its operations.
The annual salary is set between $79,500 - $85,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. The role is based in Braeside, VIC.
The Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Inspect, test, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
- Assist with installation, commissioning and repair of mechanical equipment.
- Conduct mechanical testing and inspections to identify faults and performance issues.
- Assist engineers with technical analysis, calculations and engineering documentation.
- Support preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant standards, specifications and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical, maintenance and inspection records.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and operational teams.
The Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a similar engineering support role.
- At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical equipment, machinery, maintenance or engineering systems.
- At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
- At least 2 years of experience conducting mechanical inspections, testing, troubleshooting or maintenance activities.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using relevant engineering or CAD software.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Current Australian work rights.
