Metal Worker – Building & Construction

Port Kembla, NSW Workforce Extensions is seeking an experienced Metal Worker / Steel Fabricator / Boilermaker to join a busy construction team based in Port Kembla, NSW.

This is a great prospect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in their workmanship and is looking for ongoing employment with the potential to secure a permanent position after a successful 3-month casual trial.

?️ The Role

Starting from the Port Kembla depot each day, you'll travel with the team to various commercial construction sites across the region. Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Structural steel installation and fabrication
- MIG welding and on-site metal repairs
- Measuring, cutting and assembling steel components
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Installing handrails, balustrades and fabricated steelwork
- Operating power and hand tools safely
- General construction and metalwork duties
- Maintaining a clean and secure worksite
- Working with the team to meet project deadlines

? About You

We're looking for someone who is reliable, practical and ready to get stuck in.





You'll ideally have

- Previous experience as a Metal Worker, Steel Fabricator or Boilermaker
- Experience with MIG welding and general fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- A current White Card
- Current driver's license and reliable vehicle (MR+ desirable)
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- A good work ethic and reliable attendance
