- This role bridges the gap between raw hardware and end-user performance by simulating real-world network loads, troubleshooting firmware defects, and optimising wireless protocols.
Key Responsibilities Device &
- Firmware Validation:
- Execute automated and manual test plans for new CPE hardware, ONT/ONU modules, and cable modems to ensure flawless functional operations.
Network Protocol Testing
- Verify embedded systems behavior using protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, PPPoE, and TR-069/TR-369 remote management configurations.
Wi-Fi Performance Evaluation:
- Analyze wireless performance under varying conditions for Wi-Fi 6, 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 standards, checking for packet loss, signal drop-offs, and roaming throughput.
Automation &
- Scripting:
- Develop, run, and maintain test automation scripts using Python (Pytest) or Shell scripts to scale firmware regression testing.
Traffic Simulation &
- Debugging:
- Utilize traffic generation tools and packet sniffers to replicate multi-gigabit traffic loads, identifying bottlenecks and bufferbloat issues.
- Defect Lifecycle Management:
Log detailed defect reports with system logs, Wireshark traces, and console outputs.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to reproduce and resolve core issues.
