What You'll Be Doing As the Nurse Unit Manager, Neurology, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for coordinating clinical services, managing resources,



supporting staff development and maintaining efficient ward operations in a busy specialty environment.

- Lead, direct and coordinate patient care within the Neurology unit
- Manage nursing staff, workforce planning, patient flow and resource allocation
- Ensure safe, evidence-based nursing practice and high standards of clinical care
- Foster a positive team culture through mentoring, coaching and professional development
- Drive quality improvement, innovation and efficient ward management within budget

Essential Criteria

- Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)

Selection Criteria

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive management experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role.




- Recent relevant clinical and management experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD
- Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation.
- Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care
- Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
