Role Details

Catherine McAuley School is seeking applications from experienced Occupational Therapist to join our student focused, vibrant school community. This part-time permanent/ongoing 32.5 hours per week, 45 weeks per year position will commence in Week 0 Term 1 2027. Working hours are between 8:00am – 4:00pm, 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Under broad direction, the Occupational Therapist supports school leadership in determining priorities and practices, through the application of specialist professional knowledge, skills and expertise to develop operational strategies and policy to enhance student safety and wellbeing and facilitate successful learning. The Occupational Therapist is a qualified professional, works in consultation with school leaders, to implement and deliver an effective professional service within the school community to support the emotional, social and learning development needs of students. The Occupational Therapist forms an important part in leading and providing professional support services to students within CESA.

- Provide specialist services to students in area of expertise including conducting and interpreting discipline-specific assessments and evaluations to identify student needs, with the provision of feedback, recommendations and strategy implementation support.
- Provide specialised advice to employees and the leadership team in area of expertise and assist in the development of programs and interventions to be used by educators, other professionals and paraprofessionals
- Manage the occupational therapy services of the school including preparing and maintaining accurate case notes,



files and reports and associated interventions to fulfil professional obligations, noting that information and documentation is stored securely and confidentially and remains the property of the school and must be fully available to authorised personnel at all times.

What You Need To Be Successful

- Commit to upholding and actively contributing to the Catholic ethos of the school.
- Demonstrated specialised comprehensive experience and high-level professional skills providing effective and empowering specialist services to students.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current Child Protection requirements and associated legislation and demonstrated application of same.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- A University qualification in Occupational Therapy and comprehensive demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role, particularly with children and young people, including those with special needs.
- Current registration and/or membership of a relevant and recognised professional organisation/registration body as required by legislation.
- Act in accordance with the CESA Code The successful candidates will be expected to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working With Children Check, CESA e-screening + Applicant Declaration Form, First Aid and RRHAN-EC.
