Join our supportive mental health team and build your clinical skills through dedicated supervision, professional development and our 12-month Allied Health New Graduate Program.

A comprehensive 12-month work-based training program designed for new occupational therapists to develop and apply their skills in the field of mental health and addiction. This role will be based within the Logan Central Continuing Care Team, where you will be supported to develop your occupational therapy skills alongside general mental health skills within a multidisciplinary team.

Your New Role

As an Occupational Therapist (Recent Graduate), you will be supported to develop your clinical skills while delivering patient-centred Occupational Therapy services within the Adult Community Mental Health Continuing Care Team.

- Provide Occupational Therapy assessment, education, therapeutic intervention and management to support consumers, including contributing to discharge planning within an interprofessional team.
- Manage an allocated caseload, applying evidence-based practice, effective prioritisation and increasingly independent clinical judgement with guidance from experienced clinicians.
- Work collaboratively with consumers, carers, families, health professionals, students and external agencies to achieve positive, consumer-centred outcomes.
- Contribute to clinical education, quality improvement and research activities, while actively engaging in professional development through the 12-month Allied Health New Graduate Program.

We are looking for an enthusiastic recent graduate Occupational Therapist who is committed to developing their clinical practice and providing high-quality, compassionate and evidence-based care in a mental health setting.

- Demonstrates the ability, or capacity to rapidly develop the skills, to provide high-quality, efficient and patient-centred Occupational Therapy assessment and management.
- Communicates effectively and works collaboratively within an interprofessional team to achieve the best possible outcomes for consumers.
- Is committed to active learning and ongoing professional development, with a willingness to build clinical knowledge and expertise through supervision, education and experience.
- Demonstrates, or has the ability to rapidly develop, skills in supporting student education and contributing to local service development and quality improvement initiatives.
