Denco Civil pty ltd is seeking a skilled Operator to join our team on a full-time basis at our Waterloo Corner SA 5110 location. As an Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of plant and machinery on construction sites. This position is essential to our operations, directly contributing to project timelines, safety standards, and the successful delivery of our civil construction projects.
You will be responsible for operating various types of construction plant and equipment whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Key responsibilities
- Operate construction plant and machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications and site safety requirements
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe working condition
- Maintain accurate records of equipment operation, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to ensure coordinated and safe work practices
- Follow all relevant safety protocols, procedures and legislation whilst operating machinery
- Report any equipment faults, damage or hazards immediately to management
- Assist with site setup and equipment positioning as required
- Contribute to a positive safety culture by identifying and reporting potential risks
What we're looking for
- Current and valid heavy plant operator licence appropriate to the equipment you will operate
- Proven experience operating construction plant and machinery in a civil construction environment
- Robust understanding of health and safety requirements specific to plant operation on construction sites
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, diagrams and operating manuals
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively within a construction team
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining equipment in good working order
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and certifications as required
- Relevant high-risk work licence or willingness to obtain one
