BalanceEdge is a Sydney-based corporate wellbeing company and a startup based at the Macquarie University Incubator. We help organisations build resilient, high-performing teams through evidence-based wellness workshops, resilience coaching and long-term culture programs, delivered in person and virtually across Australia.

We also design tailored programs for students and early-career professionals, strengthening resilience and career readiness before burnout becomes entrenched, complemented by 1:1 career coaching with partners including Macquarie University and UTS. Our focus is sustainable, long-term behaviour change rather than short-term fixes.

As part of our broader social impact commitment, BalanceEdge supports education access in Afghanistan. You'll be contributing to work that blends commercial outcomes with meaningful social impact.

The Role

We're looking for a Partnerships & Business Development Intern to join our team on-site at the Macquarie University Incubator. This placement is available through Macquarie University's PACE program and is open to students completing a work-integrated learning unit.

You'll work closely with the sales, marketing and program delivery teams. As a small startup team, this means genuine ownership of your own workstreams alongside the hands-on execution that comes with early-stage work.

What you'll be doing

- Researching and qualifying prospective corporate, education and coaching clients across target industries
- Building outreach lists and running email and LinkedIn campaigns end to end
- Following up on leads, booking discovery calls, and keeping the pipeline moving
- Sitting in on discovery and pitch calls, then drafting the follow-ups




- Identifying and approaching potential partners including universities, student organisations, HR and people-and-culture networks, gyms, allied health practitioners and community groups
- Drafting partnership proposals, one-pagers, pitch decks and client-facing collateral
- Supporting our existing university partnerships (Macquarie, UTS) with coordination, communication and reporting
- Researching industry events and expos where BalanceEdge should have a presence
- Creating and scheduling LinkedIn and digital content to support outreach
- Supporting marketing campaigns, keeping the website and collateral current
- Preparing materials and coordinating logistics for workshops, programs and events
- Maintaining CRM records and reporting on pipeline, conversion and outreach performance

About you

- Currently studying Marketing, Business, Communications, Psychology, or a related field, and eligible to complete a work-integrated learning or PACE unit
- A strong writer and confident on the phone, able to hold your own with senior contacts at universities, colleges and corporate clients
- Genuinely interested in sales and relationship building, and not put off by cold outreach or by chasing a lead that has gone quiet
- Organised enough to keep a pipeline accurate while several campaigns are running at once
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and quick to pick up CRM and outreach tools
- Self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and happy working in a small startup team where priorities shift
- Available to work on-site in Sydney at the Macquarie University Incubator
