Claremont

The Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA) is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Partnerships Business Development Lead to drive the next phase of growth across our partnership portfolio.

Home to the Perth Royal Show and a diverse portfolio of agricultural, food and community initiatives, RASWA provides brands with unique opportunities to connect with Western Australians while supporting an organisation with more than 190 years of history.

This is a senior, hands-on business development role for someone who loves identifying opportunities, building genuine relationships and turning ideas into long-term, commercially valuable partnerships.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll lead RASWA's partnership acquisition strategy with a strong focus on generating new revenue and building long-term commercial relationships.

You'll manage the full new business process, from identifying and qualifying prospects through to discovery, proposal development, negotiation and close. Importantly, your involvement doesn't end when the agreement is signed. You'll build trusted relationships with partners and work closely with the Partnerships Team to ensure we're delivering on what we've promised and creating genuine value throughout the partnership.

Rather than selling off-the-shelf sponsorship packages, you'll work with prospective partners to understand their objectives and develop tailored solutions that draw on RASWA's events, audiences, assets and initiatives.

You'll also lead and support the Partnerships Team, helping ensure our partners receive genuine value from their investment and that RASWA continues to build strong, sustainable commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Driving new partnership revenue and delivering against annual commercial targets
- Building and actively managing a strong pipeline of prospective partners

- Identifying and developing new partnership categories and commercial opportunities
- Leading discovery meetings and developing tailored partnership solutions
- Negotiating partnership value, benefits and contractual terms
- Building trusted, long-term relationships with partners and taking ownership of those relationships beyond the initial sale
- Building relationships with senior stakeholders across corporate, government and industry organisations
- Leading, coaching and supporting the Partnerships Team
- Managing revenue forecasts, pipeline activity and performance through CRM
- Continually identifying ways to strengthen RASWA's partnership offering and deliver greater value to partners

About you You're a commercially minded business developer who enjoys the challenge of creating recent opportunities, but understands that a great partnership doesn't finish when the deal is signed.

You value relationships, operate with integrity and take genuine ownership of the partnerships you create. You're equally comfortable opening a door with a new prospect as you are building trust with an existing partner and making sure the relationship continues to deliver value for both sides.

What you need

- A demonstrated track record of achieving new business revenue targets
- Strong B2B sales, media sales, partnerships or business development experience, with sponsorship experience highly regarded but not essential
- Excellent commercial judgement and confidence in value-based selling

- Strong relationship management skills and a genuine commitment to building long-term partnerships
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- The ability to build credibility with senior decision-makers
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop creative solutions to business challenges
- Strong CRM, pipeline management and forecasting discipline
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong people leadership and coaching capability
- A collaborative approach and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex organisation

Experience across media, major events, sport, entertainment, venues, sponsorship or marketing partnerships would be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in outstanding B2B business developers from other industries who can demonstrate strong commercial thinking and relationship management.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to combine commercial business development with some of Western Australia's most recognised events and initiatives.

You'll have the scope to develop partnerships with leading WA and national brands, create new commercial opportunities and play an important role in the continued growth of an organisation that exists to promote and celebrate Western Australian agriculture, food and community.

At RASWA, we're passionate about connecting people with agriculture and fostering a love for learning. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, education, and community.

We offer 5 weeks' annual leave, parking all year round, flexible work arrangements and salary packaging.

Please send your curriculum vitae on or before 15 September to [email protected] or phone 6263 3198 during office hours for an initial discussion.
