About this role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Brisbane Head Office team, providing payroll support across our corporate and project operations. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available for immediate commencement.
Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources and working closely with the Payroll Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing fortnightly and monthly payroll processing for the group, ensuring all payments are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
- Maintaining accurate employee and contractor data within the HRIS, ensuring timely setup, updates and strong data integrity.
- Interpreting and applying employment contracts, company policies and relevant Fair Work requirements.
- Providing prompt, professional responses to payroll queries from employees and managers.
- Preparing and lodging all statutory payroll obligations within required timeframes, including superannuation,
payroll tax (across multiple states), ACIRT, Q‑Leave and workers’ compensation.
- Ensuring compliance with Spiecapag policies, procedures and industrial agreements.
- Preparing end‑of‑month and end‑of‑year payroll reports for management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience using Definitiv payroll software is desirable
- Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, or equivalent practical experience, with at least three years’ payroll experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and report formatting.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and experience analysing payroll data.
- A service-focused approach and willingness to support corporate and project teams.
