Position Profile: We are seeking suitably experienced, motivated & innovative team members, with excellent interpersonal & organisational skills to join the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Pharmacy Services team.

Regionally Based Positions

Regional Pharmacist (P1)

Suited to early career pharmacists, including recent graduates and those building experience in hospital pharmacy. The role provides broad exposure to clinical and operational pharmacy practice across regional WA, with structured support and development opportunities. This may include enrolment in the Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPhA, formerly the Society of Hospital Pharmacy of Australia) Resident Training Program, depending on each site’s capacity to support the program.

There are P1 positions based at – Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Geraldton, Port Hedland/Karratha, Kalgoorlie and Northam/ Narrogin

Regional Clinical Pharmacist (P2)

Suited to pharmacists with established hospital experience who can work independently and manage a broad range of clinical pharmacy responsibilities. Opportunities exist across a range of regional hospital settings.

There are P2 positions based at - Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Northam, Narrogin, Bunbury, Busselton, Albany

Senior Regional Clinical Pharmacist (P3)

Suited to experienced pharmacists, with established hospital experience, seeking a leadership role in regional pharmacy services. The position combines advanced clinical practice with service development, workforce support and quality improvement responsibilities.

There are P3 positions based at - Kununurra, Derby, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman, Carnarvon, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Northam, Narrogin, Bunbury, Busselton, Albany

Regional Deployment Pharmacist

Suited to pharmacists who wish to work periodically in regional WA without committing to continuous employment with WACHS or permanent placement at a single site. Deployment pharmacists are engaged to work across multiple regional locations for defined periods, helping address temporary workforce gaps, leave coverage and service demands.

Perth-based Positions – Virtual Clinical Pharmacy Service The Virtual Clinical Pharmacy Service (VCPS) is a team of pharmacists delivering telehealth clinical pharmacy support to regional inpatient and outpatient services. The team is based primarily in the WACHS Perth Office. Flexible working arrangements, including remote work, may be considered subject to service requirements.

Senior Pharmacist Virtual Services (P2)

Suited to pharmacists with established hospital experience who can deliver safe, high-quality virtual inpatient and outpatient care, collaborate with regional teams and contribute to cutting-edge service models and quality improvement.

Supervisor Pharmacist Virtual Services (P3)

Suited to experienced hospital pharmacists with strong leadership, service development and management capability. The role is responsible for supervising the delivery of virtual clinical pharmacy services, supporting the VCPS workforce, and contributing to the ongoing development and quality of the service.

- Communication and teamwork Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centred care.
- Clinical judgement and problem solving Ability to apply clinical reasoning and make appropriate decisions to optimise medication therapy and patient outcomes.
- Commitment to regional service delivery Ability to work effectively in regional and remote settings, including adaptability, flexibility and willingness to support services across multiple sites.
- Professional integrity, quality and safety focus Demonstrated commitment to professional standards, ethical practice, ongoing development and continuous improvement in medication safety and quality.

Important Information To Note

- Virtual Clinical Pharmacy Services P2 and P3 positions are located at WACHS Central Office in Perth. There may be occasional regional travel as required. Flexible work arrangements may be considered.
- Offers of positions at the various sites will depend on vacancies at the time.
- Interviews may not be conducted.
- Applicants deemed successful in this recruitment process are eligible to be offered a position until the expiry of the pool, however success does not guarantee a job offer will be made.
- The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
- Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/06/2027.
