About the role

WA & SM GIUDICE is seeking a Potato Shed Manager to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Atherton, QLD 4883, this role is integral to the successful operation of our potato shed facilities.

As Potato Shed

Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our shed, ensuring effective processing, storage, and distribution of potatoes whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality control and food safety. This position plays a vital role in our horticultural operations and directly impacts our ability to deliver quality produce to market.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily shed operations, including receiving, grading, sorting, and packaging of potatoes
- Ensure all produce meets quality standards and food safety requirements throughout the shed process
- Manage inventory and stock rotation to maintain freshness and minimise waste
- Operate and maintain shed equipment, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Train and supervise casual and seasonal staff, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
- Monitor and document production metrics, yield data, and quality assurance reports
- Implement and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all shed areas
- Coordinate with farming and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely dispatch of product
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in horticultural shed management or similar agricultural operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of potato handling, grading, and storage procedures




- Strong understanding of food safety standards and quality control practices
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Proficiency in operating shed machinery and equipment
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Current knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks as required
- Valid driver's licence is advantageous
