About the role The Principal Product Owner-WSO is responsible for leading the end-to-end management of strategic customer-facing digital products, driving their lifecycle from concept and strategy through to delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement. The role leads multidisciplinary teams to define product vision, prioritise initiatives, and deliver high-quality, customer-centric digital solutions that support the Department of Education's strategic objectives.
Key accountabilities
- Set product vision, strategy and priorities across the end-to-end product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain an outcome-focused product roadmap based on customer needs and business priorities.
- Translate customer insights into product features, user stories, acceptance criteria and success measures.
- Partner with UX teams to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Build strong partnerships with business, technology and service providers to deliver customer-focused digital products.
- Coach and support the product team to deliver the roadmap, continuous improvement and compliance requirements.
- Promote user-centred design and customer-focused approaches through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

About you
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud, including Edge Delivery Services and Document Authoring.
- Experience as a Product Owner for AEM-based digital platforms and the NSW Design System.
- Experience managing large-scale digital products across multiple websites and diverse user groups.
- Strong understanding of AEM content management, digital publishing and governance.
- Experience with AEM upgrades, migrations, modernisation and design system adoption.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into product strategy and business outcomes.
- Experience supporting large communities of content authors and improving authoring experiences.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
